Global digital services and consulting provider Infosys announced a strategic, long-term collaboration with a German aviation group, Lufthansa Group (LHG), and Lufthansa Systems GmbH (LSY), an airline IT provider, to accelerate digital transformation and drive innovation in the aviation industry.
As per this partnership, LSY and Infosys will establish a dedicated Global Capability Center (GCC) in Bengaluru, India. This GCC is designed to enhance Lufthansa Group’s software and product development and increase support for LSY’s products for external airline market customers.
The GCC will focus on creating future-ready, sustainable aviation IT solutions and data-centric applications by the utilization of Infosys Topaz, an AI-first framework harnessing generative AI technologies. These solutions will support LHG and LSY’s clients to bolster aviation safety, operational efficiency, customer engagement, and competitive positioning, especially in fluctuating demand patterns.
The GCC will accelerate Lufthansa Group’s digital transformation by adopting modern technologies and AI. Working closely with LSY, the GCC will enhance existing solutions across critical functions, including finance, flight navigation, network & schedule design, and aircraft & crew operations.
Thomas Rückert, CIO of Lufthansa Group, said, “In this context, our collaboration with Infosys reflects our shared commitment to excellence in aviation by addressing these challenges and shaping the future of air travel. Infosys’ expertise in digitalization and innovation using AI and data-driven solutions will be instrumental in optimizing our operations, enhancing passenger experiences, and increasing the productivity and stability of our operational processes – for sustainable growth.”
