HCLTech has announced the launch of VisionX 2.0, an upgraded version of its multi-modal AI edge platform that integrates NVIDIA’s AI computing stack to support real-time industrial decision-making. The platform is positioned as a tool for organisations with mission-critical operations, such as manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, where latency, safety and operational continuity are key concerns.
VisionX 2.0 builds on HCLTech’s existing Intelligent Secure Edge framework, combining advanced computer vision, vision-language models (VLMs), multi-modal data fusion, and edge-optimised generative AI. The system is designed to analyse disparate data streams, including video, audio, still images, LiDAR, stereo camera feeds and IoT telemetry, in near real time at the point of capture rather than relying on remote cloud processing.
Underlying VisionX 2.0 is a suite of technologies from NVIDIA’s physical AI ecosystem. These include NVIDIA Blueprint for video search and summarisation, NVIDIA DeepStream for high-performance streaming analytics, NVIDIA Cosmos Reason VLM, and NVIDIA TAO tools for post-training of visual models. On-premise AI inference is delivered through NVIDIA Jetson modules and high-end GPUs such as the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell, with optional deployment on Dell NativeEdge infrastructure to minimise bandwidth constraints and protect sensitive data.
A distinguishing feature of the platform is its multi-modal AIoT engine, which correlates inputs across sensor types to detect anomalies, safety violations and operational risks with higher fidelity than single-modal analytics.
VisionX 2.0 enters a competitive landscape of edge AI solutions aimed at industrial digitalisation. According to industry analysis, the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) market is forecast to grow robustly through the latter half of the decade, with estimates suggesting significant expansion in demand for systems that bring AI decisioning closer to operational systems.
According to company leadership, VisionX 2.0 is intended to move organisations away from reactive monitoring toward proactive, real-time monitoring. Whether this platform achieves differentiation against offerings from other systems integrators and AI vendors will depend on adoption rates in sectors where edge performance and reliability are decisive factors.
“With VisionX 2.0, HCLTech is redefining how intelligence is delivered at the industrial edge,” said Vijay Guntur, CTO and Head of Ecosystems at HCLTech. “By combining our deep expertise in secure edge engineering with NVIDIA AI infrastructure and AI models, we are enabling enterprises to move from reactive monitoring to real-time, trusted decision-making agents, where milliseconds matter.”
“The next wave of industrial transformation is being driven by Physical AI real-time, multi-modal intelligence that elevates performance, safety, and autonomy across global operations,” said Deepu Talla, vice president, Robotics and Edge AI at NVIDIA.
