HCLSoftware, the enterprise software division of HCLTech, has announced its intent to acquire Wobby, a Belgium-based early-stage AI startup that builds AI Data Analyst “Agents” designed for natural-language querying and insights generation from enterprise data warehouses. Wobby is headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium.
By adding AI Data Analyst ‘Agent’ technology, customers can work with their raw data more easily and get business insights quickly and accurately, whenever they need them.
Wobby provides AI Data Analyst ‘Agents’ that enable users to query complex datasets through a natural language interface and receive actionable insights instantly. The solution is powered by a proprietary semantic layer and agentic architecture that interprets business context, automates complex workflows and delivers high-quality analytical output at scale, complementing the knowledge graph capabilities of the Actian Data Intelligence Platform.

HCLSoftware is making this acquisition as part of a broader strategy to enhance its Data & AI portfolio, particularly the capabilities of its Actian Data Intelligence Platform, by integrating agentic AI analytics directly into enterprise data workflows.
This acquisition aligns with HCLTech’s broader push into AI-driven software and analytics platforms. Recently, HCLSoftware has also announced other strategic moves to strengthen its data and business intelligence portfolio.
The acquisition is expected to close by February 2026.
