22 October 2025: DIB, the UAE’s first full-service Islamic bank, and HCLTech, a leading global technology company, announced a partnership to accelerate AI adoption across DIB’s ecosystem.
This partnership was announced at the GITEX GLOBAL 2025 event in Dubai.
Through this collaboration, DIB will leverage HCLTech’s Advanced AI capabilities, including AI Advisory, and global alliances with hyperscalers and technology partners to deploy AI responsibly, effectively and at scale.
By embedding intelligence across its operations, the bank aims to deliver personalised customer experiences, enhance decision-making, streamline processes and strengthen risk and compliance frameworks.
For DIB, the partnership marks a significant milestone in modernising its operations and customer-facing capabilities through AI, while upholding its position as a leader in Islamic banking. Because Shariah-compliant aspects are explicitly referenced, it highlights the growing intersection of ethics/regulation and advanced technologies in financial services.
“At DIB, we believe that innovation should always be responsible and meaningful. Our new partnership with HCLTech is a major step towards our goal of using AI to provide more value to our customers, support our employees, and improve our governance,” said Obaid Al Shamsi, Chief Operating Officer of DIB.
“We are dedicated to leading the way in ethical finance by using new technologies that combine smart solutions with honesty. This partnership shows that we believe AI can make banking better by making it more open, inclusive, and prepared for the future,” Al Shamsi added.
Vineet Shukla, Country Head Middle East at HCLTech, said: “By using HCLTech’s wide range of AI tools and our deep knowledge, we are excited to work with DIB to bring new ideas, improve how we operate, and provide unique experiences for our customers.”
