India, October 15, 2025. Bharti Airtel, a major telecommunications company in India, has teamed up with IBM, a leading technology company, to augment its recently launched Airtel Cloud service.
This partnership aims to combine Airtel’s cloud services with IBM’s advanced cloud solutions and technologies designed for artificial intelligence (AI). Airtel Cloud customers will be able to use IBM’s advanced Power systems as a service, including new IBM Power11 servers ready for AI, which can manage important tasks in industries like banking, healthcare, and government.
This new hybrid platform will also support various business applications like IBM Power AIX, IBM i, Linux, and SAP Cloud ERP. Additionally, the partnership will assist SAP customers as they move to SAP Cloud ERP on IBM Power Virtual Server.
Gopal Vittal, the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, stated, “Airtel Cloud is built to be highly secure and follow all necessary regulations, creating a strong and flexible cloud platform. With the support of IBM, we are adding important features to meet the needs of many industries that require use of IBM Power Systems and need to prepare for AI. We are also expanding our cloud services in India from four locations to ten, using our new sustainable data centers. Soon, we will open two new Multizone Regions (MZRs) in Mumbai and Chennai.”
