Nxtra by Airtel and AMPIN Energy Transition have strengthened their partnership with a new agreement to supply 125.65 MW of solar and wind energy through the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS).
With this new agreement, their total partnership for renewable energy has now exceeded 200 MW. This will help Nxtra enhance its infrastructure, reduce its carbon footprint, and operate more efficiently. The extra energy will be provided to Nxtra in two steps, using solar and wind projects located in Rajasthan and Karnataka.
AMPIN has already been supplying solar energy to Nxtra in places like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. Now, with this new deal, AMPIN will expand to 11 additional states and introduce new technologies, enabling easier access to renewable energy from a single power producer.
Ashish Arora, CEO of Nxtra by Airtel, said, “Being sustainable is not just a choice for us; it’s our duty and a chance to lead. By using over 200 MW of renewable energy with AMPIN, we are setting a new standard for our industry. This achievement shows our commitment to using clean energy in our facilities, which helps us be more reliable and create a positive impact on the climate. At Nxtra, we want to drive change and inspire others, ensuring that our work supports India’s digital growth while protecting the environment for future generations.”
Pinaki Bhattacharyya, Founder, MD, and CEO of AMPIN Energy Transition, said, “Through this partnership, we show that by combining different renewable energy solutions from across India, we can help customers achieve almost complete energy transition. Nxtra by Airtel, a leader in the growing data center field, shares our commitment to sustainability, and we are proud to make data centers more eco-friendly through this collaboration.”
