Accenture Unveils ‘Physical AI Orchestrator’ to Help Manufacturers Build Software-Defined Facilities

Accenture Unveils Physical AI

Accenture has introduced a “Physical AI Orchestrator” to help manufacturers reinvent existing and future factories and warehouses to become software-defined.  It works online (in the cloud) and brings together different technologies, like NVIDIA Omniverse and AI programs from Accenture.

In these smart factories,  virtual replicas mirror the physical automated plant or warehouse and its equipment. These virtual copies, digital twins, can spot problems and test changes in real time. AI programs then use this information to help the factory adjust to new needs or schedules. With the Physical AI Orchestrator, companies can create digital twins for many parts of their factories and connect them to the real equipment.

For example, Belden has used the Physical AI Orchestrator to improve worker safety. It created a virtual fence around robots in factories and warehouses. If a person enters this safety zone, the robots will stop or move away. The system uses smart AI to watch how people, vehicles, and robots move. It can react to many situations, like a forklift suddenly going in reverse. This safety system will first be used by a car company to protect workers in warehouses.

Prasad Satyavolu, Americas Lead of Accenture’s Digital Engineering and Manufacturing Service, Industry X, said, “Physical AI Orchestrator is like the brain of a factory. It uses NVIDIA and Accenture technologies to help factories use more software and AI. We already see good results for our clients, especially in the United States, where factories are changing how they work.”
